Paulson and Co. Inc. Active Buyers During Q2

Paulson and Co. Inc. filed their eagerly anticipated 13F-HR earlier today.

The hedge fund firm reported owning a total of 78 13(f) securities at the end of Q2, up from 60 in Q1.

Paulson and Co. Inc. reported owning a total of $22.9 billion in 13(f) securities at the end of Q2, up from $21.16 billion the quarter before.

Paulson dramatically increased his positions in names such as Hartford Financial Services and Mylan during Q2, while scaling back positions in names such as Boston Scientific Corporation and CIT Group. Also, Paulson chose to inexplicably reduce his position in Supermedia Inc by 2 shares.

Note: Conseco changed their CUSIP number midway through the quarter. This created a bit of a mix-up in the 13F-HR, but I will assume that Paulson's Conseco position remains unchanged.
