Potomac Electric Most Hated Company in America

Companies with the lowest satisfaction rating in United States - logosClose your eyes for a second.

What is the one company that instantly makes your blood pressure rise at the mere mention of their name? What is the one company that you swear that you will never, ever deal with again?

The American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) rates "companies based on thousands of surveys". The company that finishes with the lowest satisfaction rating is rated as the most hated company in America, and so on.

If an airline is your most hated company, then you are not alone. According to the ACSI, airlines occupied four out of the top 10 spots on the "Most Hated Companies in America" list.

The most hated company? Pepco (Potomac Electric). According to the ACSI, Pepco had a customer satisfaction rating of just 54/100. The main reason? "Unreliable services" - according to Theatlantic.com, the average Pepco customer "experienced 70 percent more outages than customers of other big city utilities that took part in one 2009 survey, and the lights stayed out more than twice as long". That'll do it.

Here is a list of the top 10 most hated companies in America, according to the ACSI:

1. Pepco.
2. Delta Airlines.
3. Time Warner Cable.
4. Comcast.
5. Charter Communications.
6. US Airways.
7. United Airlines.
8. American Airlines.
9. Myspace.
10. Facebook.

Myspace (which was recently sold to a group that included Justin Timberlake) and Facebook rounded out the top 10 due to privacy concerns.
