Thumbs Down Given to Both Republicans and Democrats
When it comes to the contentious debt ceiling issue, which party is winning in the eyes of the average American?
The answer - neither.

The Republican numbers are even worse - 71% of those included in the poll said that they disapprove of how the party is handling the debt ceiling negotiations, while just 21% said that they approve.
How about President Obama and his handling of the situation?

The majority of the Independents that were included in the survey (52%) said that they disapprove of how President Obama is handling the negotiations.
In the end, the majority of Americans believe that a debt ceiling deal will be reached before the August 2nd deadline.
