Zuckerberg revealed earlier in his life that he had signed the Giving Pledge, which involves some of the world's richest people donating more than half of their wealth to charitable endeavors over the course of their lifetimes. Zuckerberg ramped this pledge up earlier this week when he revealed that he would be donating 99% of his substantial wealth to charity.

In announcing the pledge, Zuckerberg revealed that he has no plans on leaving Facebook anytime soon and plans on leading the company for "many, many years" to come.

By planning on donating most of his wealth to charity, Zuckerberg joins Bill Gates and Warren Buffett as US billionaires who plan on gifting the fruits of their lifetime labors to charity.

All told, the pledges from all three men total well in excess of $100 billion.
