Chelsea Notes: Chelsea is attempting to put the pieces back together following one of the most frustrating seasons in their history.

The 2015/16 campaign for Chelsea was an unmitigated disaster - Jose Mourinho was sacked (the technical term - he left via "mutual consent" in order to save face) en route to the club finishing in 10th place in the English Premier League. After finishing with a record of 12-14-12, Chelsea missed out on both Champions League and Europa League in 2016/17, which was a thorough embarrassment for a club that is used to challenging for the Champions League and EPL titles.

Chelsea, which was founded in 1905, is owned by Roman Abramovich and has five English Premier League titles to their name, with the most recent coming in the 2014/15 season. In addition, Chelsea has won the Champions League title (2011-12) as well as the Europa League title (2012-13). On top of that, Chelsea has won the FA Cup and Community Shield multiple times.

As one of the world's richest clubs (Forbes magazine lists their worth at £1.15 billion), Chelsea will be expected to rebound quickly following the disappointment of last season. The club will be in tough this season, as Man City and Man Utd are both looking to be in top form.
