Schooling: Started college at William Woods University but eventually transferred to University of Wisconsin-Madison. Graduated with a bachelor's degree in computer science.
Has received Honorary degrees from New Jersey Institute of Technology, Worcester Polytechnic Institute and William Woods University.
Prior to Yahoo!: After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Bartz found herself working at 3M. Bartz would eventually leave 3M and work at Digital Equipment Corporation and Sun Microsystems. Bartz worked at Sun Microsystems from 1983 to April of 1992, where she quickly worked her way up the ranks of the company.
In April of 1992, Bartz was named as the new CEO of Autodesk, a position that she held until April of 2006.
Bartz was named as the CEO of Yahoo! in January of 2009, which is the position that she still holds today.
Bartz currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Cisco Systems, Inc., a position that she has held since November of 1996. Bartz is also a member of the Board of Directors of Yahoo!
Carol Bartz has previously served as a director for both Intel Corporation and NetApp, Inc.
