Prior to AOL: Prior to accepting the role of Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of AOL, Tim Armstrong worked at Google as the Senior Vice President and President of the Americans Operations. Armstrong was also a member of Google's Operating Committee. According to his profile on AOL.com, Armstrong's tenure at Google "covered the scaled launch of Google's advertising efforts and defined many of the operating structures that supported Google's global expansion."

Prior to working at Google, Armstrong held the following positions:

-Vice President of Strategic Sales and Partnerships at Snowball.com

-Director of Integrated Sales and Marketing at ABC/ESPN Internet Ventures

-launched a consumer Internet magazine called I-Way while with IDG

-co-founded a newspaper in Boston

Other Notes and Info: -Armstrong is a trustee at Connecticut College and Lawrence Academy

-currently sits on the boards of the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), the Advertising Council and the Advertising Research Foundation

-Armstrong has raised eyebrows in the investing community a number of times by proclaiming that AOL is in the midst of a turnaround

-purchased $10 million worth of AOL shares on February 11th, 2011

-raised eyebrows once again in February of 2011 when AOL announced the purchase of The Huffington Post for $315 million ($300 million in cash, $15 million in stock)

-Armstrong helped take AOL public back in November of 2009
