President Trump Could Become The First US President To Be Impeached Twice

Donald Trump would be the first president in history of United States to be impeached twice.Has a US President ever been impeached twice?

Four US Presidents - Andrew Johnson, Richard Nixon, Bill Clinton and Donald Trump - have been impeached.

Three of the four impeached Presidents were acquitted by the Senate, while Richard Nixon resigned before he was acquitted.

Andrew Johnson was impeached in his first term as President. Johnson was regarded as one of the most deeply unpopular Presidents in US history, and he didn't even win the nomination of his own party, so he didn't run for a second term.

As a result, Johnson was impeached just once.

Richard Nixon was impeached and subsequently resigned before he could be removed by the Senate.

Due to leaving office, Richard Nixon was impeached just once.

Bill Clinton's impeachment came in his second term as President, and he didn't face a second impeachment charge. He was only impeached once.

Donald Trump was impeached in December of 2019 and acquitted by the Senate in 2020.

Despite the fact that President Trump will be leaving office on January 20th, 2021 (after losing the Presidential election to Joe Biden), the Democratic Party have said that they want to impeach President Trump for a second time, due to the riots at the Capitol in January of 2021.
