College? Who Needs College?

you don't need college to be rich One of the biggest myths perpetuated on the general public is that you somehow need a degree from college to be successful in life. Obviously there are some areas that you MUST have a degree in order to become successful, such as neurosurgery or dentistry. However, in order to become a successful entrepreneur you certainly don't need a degree, and some of the top entrepreneurs of all time either dropped out of college or didn't attend college at all. Next time someone tries to power-trip on you because they have a degree and you don't, you just can mention these names:

Bill Gates - one of the richest men in the world. Dropped out of college. Never got a degree.

Michael Dell - started Dell Computer out of his college dorm room, but ended up dropping out of college at 19

Wall Disney - never even attended college. Dropped out of high school at 16

Steve Jobs - attended one semester of college before dropping out

Henry Ford - dropped out of school at 16 and became a machinist

Frank Lloyd Wright - never attended high school, and was probably the most influential architect of the 20th century

Barry Diller - started Fox Broadcasting, media mogul

Richard Branson - owner of Virgin, dropped out of school at 16

Most people that I know stumbled their way through college, barely passing, rewriting essays that they borrowed from friends, slept through class, and graduated with a 2.5 GPA. And somehow they are more qualified to run an online business than I am cause I dropped out of school? I don't think so.
