The Top Ten Hardest to Fill Jobs in the US
Did you ever wonder what the top ten hardest jobs to fill are in the US?
1. Sales representative
2. Teacher
3. Mechanic
4. Technician
5. Management/executive
6. Truck driver
7. Driver/delivery
8. Accountant
9. Laborer
10. Machine operator
Sales representative certainly doesn't surprise me as the number one hardest to fill position. Companies will always need salespeople, and there is a certain social stigma attached to being a salesperson.
The teacher shortage is not surprising as well, and I expect this to only get worse. Teachers are underpaid, and I expect that the pool of available teachers will only shrink as prospective teachers decide to make more money in other sectors.
Truck driver is a bit of a surprising entry on the list, but when you consider the amount of goods that need to be transported on a daily basis, and the fact that if you are a long haul driving you need to be away from your family for months at a time, it is not very surprising.
Delivery driver will only get worse as well, as more and more mail is sent by courier instead of regular mail. This, along with a salesperson, will ALWAYS be in the top 10.
And accountant? Not a real surprise there either. With Sarbanes-Oxley and all of the corporate scandals over the past five years, accountants are up to their ears in work.
