Industries come from each company's Standard Industrial Classification code in its SEC filings, grouped into the industries the committees oversee. Committee assignments are current ones. Funds, bonds and stocks without an SEC industry code are not counted.
09Trades by Month
Disclosed trades by the month the trade was made. The most recent months look lighter than they will end up, because members have up to 45 days to report.
10Late Filings
The STOCK Act requires members to report a trade within 30 days of learning about it, and in no case later than 45 days after the trade. 2,795 disclosed trades, 20.3% of the total, were reported more than 45 days after the trade date, by 65 different members. The usual penalty for a late report is a $200 fee. Below are the longest gaps between a trade and its report.

Days between the trade date and the date the report was filed. A late report can have an innocent cause, such as a trade made by an outside adviser that the member learned about later; the 30-day clock runs from when the member is notified, but the 45-day limit applies regardless.
11What They Trade
Not every disclosed trade is a stock. Members also report bonds, funds and options.

13How This Is Counted
- Source. Periodic Transaction Reports filed under the STOCK Act: House reports from the Clerk of the House, Senate reports from the Senate's electronic financial disclosure system. Every report filed since January 1, 2025 is included; the most recent was filed Oct 19, 2026. This page updates itself daily.
- Trades, not holdings. These reports list purchases and sales. A member's full holdings are in their annual financial disclosure, which is not included here.
- Amounts are ranges. Members report each trade in a band, such as $1,001–$15,000, not an exact amount. Estimated values add up the low and high ends of those bands; the explorer's net figures use the middle of each band.
- Who made the trade. Reports cover the member, their spouse and dependent children, and joint accounts. All of them are counted here, and the owner is shown with each trade.
- Amendments. When a report is amended, the same trade can appear twice; each trade is counted once.
- Before taking office. New members must also report trades they made before they were sworn in. Those were made as private citizens, so they are left out (5 trades).
- Late filings are trades reported more than 45 days after the trade date. A trade dated more than three years before its report is treated as a typo in the filing and not counted as late.
- ZIP codes are matched to congressional districts with the Census Bureau's ZIP Code Tabulation Area file for the 119th Congress. A ZIP code that crosses district lines shows every member it could belong to.
- 1Paper filings. 149 reports were filed on paper and published as scanned images, which cannot be read reliably by machine. Their trades are not included in the totals.
- No conclusions about motive. A trade, a committee overlap or a late report is not evidence of wrongdoing. This page shows what members disclosed and when.
