Democrat Hopes Likely Rest on Shoulders of Hillary Clinton

According to Las Vegas, the Democrats are currently the favorites to win the 2016 US Presidential election.

Here are the odds as of this moment:

Democratic Party, 1.71
Republican Party, 2.00

As you can see, the Democrats are slight favorites while the Republicans are even money.

The Democrats' edge is due to the commonly held belief that Hillary Clinton will run in 2016. If her health holds up and she decides to run, Hillary Clinton is currently the clear favorite to win the election. The Republicans, as you can imagine, are hoping that Hillary doesn't run. This doesn't appear to be the case, however, as Hillary Clinton has been making more frequent appearances in the media and numerous Republicans have been taking shots at her.

By all accounts it appears as though Hillary will be running in 2016.

The Republicans don't really have a clear favorite to win the nomination in 2016. Mitt Romney, IF he decides to run, is likely the favorite. Romney has enjoyed a surge in popularity over the past year or so, thanks, in large part, to his prescient takes on Iraq and Russia.

If Romney doesn't run, the Republicans may be in trouble. Jeb Bush is seen as being a strong contender for the nomination, but could he beat Hillary Clinton in a head-to-head battle? That remains to be seen.
