Virtual Stock Trading at Yalicoo (www.yalicoo.com)

yalicoo logoNow this site is a cool idea. When I first heard about Yalicoo, I thought to myself "This is just another free virtual stock trading competition. It's been done before by thestreet.com, CNBC, and others. It won't work." I was wrong though, as Yalicoo is not like the others. It is an entirely unique site that I believe will attract a lot of attention from competitive stock traders such as myself.

What is it exactly? Well, basically it is a virtual stock trading site that offers very real cash prizes on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis. The site charges a small fee for each competition that you enter. The thing is, the site is so new that the number of people entered into each competition are ridiculously small, so if you get involved in the site now, then you have a great chance of winning. The site charges a fee so that it can fund its prize pools, and so they don't have to have any advertising on the site, which is a welcome change from other sites.

Here is the breakdown of the competitions, entry fees and prize pools:

Daily Competition --> $4.99 to enter, First Place is $250.00, Second Place is $75.00, Third Place is $50.00

Weekly Competition --> $9.99 to enter, First Place is $500.00, Second Place is $100.00, Third Place is $50.00

Monthly Competition --> $14.99 to enter, First Place is $1000.00, Second Place is $200.00, Third Place is $100.00

Quarterly Competition --> $29.99 to enter, First Place is $10,000.00, Second Place is $1500.00, Third Place is $1000.00

There are a number of other cool things about Yalicoo. They offer free real-time quotes to everyone who signs up for a Yalicoo account. Plus, you have the ability to view the portfolios of other players, which could lead to some interesting potential real-life stock picks for you if you are following a hot trader.

The site is planning on expanding to other international exchanges. For right now, they offer Nasdaq competitions. Since the Nasdaq is by far the most popular stock exchange, this isn't really a problem.

So far I like what I see. You should really take advantage while the numbers are low, as you have a great chance of winning.
