Consistency is the Key - Blogging Your Way to a Small Fortune

There is no real secret to developing a large readership for your blog.

Imagine a popular television show, like Friends for example. The key to their success is that there is continuity. You knew that every Thursday night, there would be an episode of Friends on. Because of that, you developed a routine and got into the show.

Now imagine that an episode of Friends would air one week, and then air three weeks later on a random night. Probably wouldn't be as popular would it?

It's the same thing with a blog. You need to develop consistency. My biggest tip when it comes to running a blog is that you need to write at least one post per day. I don't care how long or how short the post is. How well-researched it is. Just write. If you can write more than that, then great, but you HAVE to write on a consistent basis.

Your readers will like it. Readers like knowing that you are likely working away at your computer, giving them a new article. They will start checking out your site daily, excited to read that new article that you have penned.

If you are inconsistent, and write infrequently, then they won't check for you. Traffic will suffer, and you will be one of those people who say "I don't believe you can make money from blogging. I tried and it didn't work, so people who say they are making money must be lying." Don't be one of those people.

Another bonus to consistent writing is that search engines will crawl your site daily. Search engines, especially Google, reward sites that offer fresh content daily. If the crawler only comes to your site every week, then you probably won't rank well in the search engines.

Just like brushing your teeth, you need to get into a habit of writing. At least one article per day. Keep that up for a year, and you will be surprised at how much money you are making.
