Making Money From a Blog: One Month Update

It's been about a month since we really started trying to monetize this blog.

First I have stepped up the amount of content that I am posting. Getting into a regular posting habit is crucial when it comes to building your traffic and getting sites to link to you.

Second we redesigned the template of the site to make it more search engine friendly and more ad friendly. Already we have noticed a big uptick in traffic and CTR for our ads as a result of the new design.

I don't have the exact numbers with me, but in July, this blog earned about $65 in total income. About $6 of that came from the one text link ad that we sold, and the rest of that came from Adsense.

Our traffic continues to grow, and we are now up to about $5-$6 per day in Adsense revenues. Over time, we will be expanding the amount of revenue sources that we have on this page, but for now, our major concern is in building up our traffic.

This site ranks pretty well in the search engines for the keywords that we are targeting, so I think that we are looking good for the future. After a year or so of adding two to three articles per day, I am pretty curious to see where we are going to be at. My motto when it comes to sites like this is, go big or go home, and I would like to have one of the highest earning and most-read personal blogs on the Internet.
