Name: Jeb Bush

Born: February 11th, 1953

Company: Britton Hill Holdings

Position: Former Florida Governor, Presidential Candidate

Jeb Bush currently has a net worth of an estimated:

After finishing his second term as Governor of Florida on January 2nd, 2007, Jeb Bush (brother to President George W. Bush, son to President George H. W. Bush and former First Lady Barbara Bush) lamented the fact that he was only worth $1.3 million.

His time as the Governor of Florida, Bush argued, had a negative impact on his finances. Indeed, when Bush was first sworn in as Governor of Florida on January 5th, 1999, his net worth stood at $2 million. When he left in early 2007, his net worth had dropped to $1.3 million.

After leaving office, Jeb Bush was unapologetic in his desire to earn as much money as possible and significantly increase his family's net worth. In order to earn this money, Bush joined corporate boards (including Tenet Healthcare and InnoVida, a Florida firm which would eventually go bankrupt), advised companies such as Lehman Brothers and gave speeches (at a reported $50,000 per pop). All told, these activities reportedly raised Jeb Bush over $10 million (the speech tour was especially lucrative, as Bush has reportedly given over 100 speeches for his $50,000 asking price).

In recent years, Jeb Bush has been involved in the launching of a number of private equity funds through his company, Britton Hill Holdings (Bush is the chairman and part owner of the firm). BH Global Aviation, an offshore private equity fund, raised $61 million in September of 2014, while BH Logistics and a shale oil exploration fund have both raised in excess of $25 million from investors.

Jeb Bush is reportedly considering a run for the White House in 2016. In fact, 2012 Republican Presidential nominee Mitt Romney pulled himself from the race earlier this week, with many feeling as though Romney was left with the impression that "top Republicans" and former supporters felt that Jeb Bush had a better chance against Hillary Clinton in 2016.

A downside to becoming President, however, is that Jeb would have to put his quest for making as much money as possible on hold, as the opportunities to make money diminish quickly when you move into the White House.
